Melted: Anne Richmond Boston

Frankie Hollywood here with a beautiful night on MELTED celebrating the incredible Anne Richmond Boston. Anne joined us to talk about the rebirth of her long-lost solo album I Should Be Happy, now finally released on DB Records more than 30 years after it was first recorded.

We dove deep into the story behind the record — how the tapes sat in the vault for decades before finally being revived and remixed, bringing these songs back to life for a new generation of listeners.
During the show we spun several beautiful tracks from the album including:
• I Should Be Happy
• Give In
• Bottle of Sleep
• Carry Me
• Dark Room

Anne also shared incredible stories from the road with The Swimming Pool Q’s, including touring when the band opened shows for legends like Sting, Devo, and Lou Reed — a reminder of just how deep her roots run in underground music history.

From Atlanta studios to stages across the country, Anne’s voice has carried decades of stories, longing, and resilience — and I Should Be Happy finally lets those songs breathe the way they were meant to.
A huge thank you to Anne for joining us on MELTED and sharing the journey behind this beautiful record.
