The All-In Sports Huddle: Deep Dive on BPS Football β€” Are There Enough Opportunities for Students?

February 1, 2026: The Huddle discussed Boston Public High School football and where it stands today with our old friend who’s back from the Bay, Byron “BStyles” Beaman.

The New England Patriots are ready to play in the biggest game yet locally our biggest city continues to struggle with losing teams and athletes in the Boston Public Schools League. There used to be multiple NFL products coming out of the city. Players like Ron Stone and Ivan Caesar.  Why are other major cities like Detroit, Oakland and the DMV have great football programs?

Byron Beaman, a former head football coach at Burke HS (now Holland Tech) spoke about the obstacles he faced trying to field a football team during his time and other issues with fields, equipment and practice times. With so many more opportunities on a football field for athletic scholarships, is BPS Athletics selling their students short on future opportunities?

We got into Byron’s time working with our guy Will Croom of the former Mass Elite 7v7 program that produced future NFL players like Sean McKeon, North Andover’s Jake Bobo of the Seattle Seahawks and Lewis Cine.

We also played some great music including Grammy nominated artists and winners Clipse, J.I.D and some of Boston’s and the area’s finest like Exitfame, Joyner Lucas and Edo G.  Listen in as we celebrate Black History Month & Our team back in the Ship!!  Warriors!!!
