From Nirvana Tours to Folk-Punk Truth: Plague Dad on MELTED

Straight out of Portland!

Straight out of Portland, Maine — Plague Dad is the most recent project from singer/songwriter Frank Gallagher (no, not the guy from Shameless… this one’s the REAL deal).

Frank’s a veteran of the indie rock underground — Berklee-trained, forged in the fire of the San Francisco scene, and battle-tested from LA to Seattle, sharing stages with legendary acts like Nirvana, Primus, Goo Goo Dolls, and more.

Then life hit.

Melted is presented to you by Rick Walker’s Rock N’ Roll Cowboy Clothes.

And when the pandemic slammed the world shut… Plague Dad was born.

Laid off and locked in his attic, Gallagher wrote and recorded songs that were part survival, part confession, part street-level truth. When venues disappeared, he took the music to the sidewalks — busking through southern Maine, turning isolation into community, and pain into songs.

Musically, it’s old-timey acoustic tradition (Jimmie Rodgers / Carter Family / Stanley Brothers energy) filtered through a punk-rock ethos that never left his bloodstream.

One writer called it:
“Three parts Stanley Brothers… two parts Minutemen.”
And honestly? That’s dead on.

Songs to dive into RIGHT NOW:
Cops on Acid
Talking Eviction Blues
Six Pack
Need to Know

If you like music that’s honest, sharp, and built for live rooms and back streets — Plague Dad is your next obsession.
