The Mat Report: Sectionals and Divisional Glory

We were joined by AJ Traub of the Boston Globe, who called in to provide expert analysis on the recent Mass State sectional results and preview the Divisional State Championships happening this weekend. AJ shared his incredible journey, revealing how he became so deeply ingrained in the wrestling community and why this sport is a testament to grit.

Empowering the Next Generation

This episode is also a celebration of youth leadership. We welcomed Michael Gorman of The Movement Family, along with high school student-athletes Avalise Fernandez and Clemerlin Alvarado, to hear about their experiences with TMF and their path in sports.

Their stories highlight the power of sport to build community—a theme that continued as we honored a true local legend: Rick Gorman. After serving as the Executive Director of the North Andover Youth and Recreation Services (NAYRS) since 1988, Rick is officially retiring. We looked back at his journey, starting the department from scratch and growing it to serve over 3,800 young people annually, and his lasting legacy in regional basketball development.

Survive and Advance

Between the deep-dive discussions, we made sure to keep the energy high in the studio! We celebrated a massive men’s hockey gold medal win live on air and analyzed the latest bracketology as high school teams across the state look to survive and advance over the next few weeks.
