Lowell Arts Culture and the Rise of Boston Glory Ultimate

We’re highlighting the local drive behind Lowell’s culture and athletics. First, Chris Porter joins us to discuss the vision for The Town and The City Festival and its impact on the downtown scene. Then, we talk Ultimate with Simon Carapella and Oscar Graff of Boston Glory as they look to build on their recent championship success and the season ahead.

Listen Now to Hear the Story Behind the Festival and the UFA Championship

We had a fantastic time catching up with Chris Porter, the founder of The Town and The City Festival. Chris shared his journey and his motivations for returning to the city to help produce this incredible event, which takes over Downtown Lowell from Thursday night through Saturday. Beyond the music, we even managed to squeeze in some sports talk with a longtime friend of the station.

The studio energy stayed high as we learned more about the sport of Ultimate from Simon Carapella and Oscar Graff of Boston Glory. Coming off a UFA Championship last year and a big win this past Saturday, they discussed what drew them to the sport and the high expectations they have for the upcoming season.

The soundtrack for the week features artists performing at the festival and a special tribute to local legend, the late Mark Sandman.
