We kicked off the broadcast celebrating an incredible milestone for The Movement Family, as the team shared the fantastic news regarding their new location for their essential weekly community dinners, set to debut this July.

Switching focus to the courts, Romello Crowell called into the hotline to break down the excitement surrounding The Billy G Classic. Held at the new location of the Collegiate Charter School of Lowell, June 26-28, 2026, this premier summer basketball tournament and community festival honors the lasting legacy of William “Billy G.” Gilmore, the beloved longtime athletics manager for the Lowell Boys & Girls Club. The guys explored the immense basketball talent hitting the floor for the competitive $20,000 prize-pool tournament, the dedicated organizers bringing the weekend to life, and the profound, positive impact Billy Gilmore had on generations of youth across the city. Beyond the high-stakes games, the event stands as a true neighborhood celebration featuring live DJs, local food trucks, and area vendors.

Tying the entire broadcast together, the soundtrack features a premier showcase of elite 978 area hip-hop. We spun tracks from local standouts Lil Rich, Termanology, Pxlicy, Superstar Snuk, Artisin, and Reks, alongside an absolute classic from the legendary Masta Ace.
