It was an energetic morning in the studio as we dove deep into local sports development, tournament organization, and coaching technology. We started the conversation with Kelvin and Joshua, the driving forces behind Chico’s Summer Shootout. The organizers shared the inspiring grassroots origins of their summer basketball league and opened up about the recent administrative and logistical hurdles they have faced working with the city of Lawrence to secure court space and keep the tournament thriving for local athletes.
Switching focus over to local football coverage, analyst Andy Villamarzo stopped in to discuss his exciting Sunday evening show, Villamarzo’s Voice, breaking down what listeners can expect from his upcoming weekly gridiron commentary.
We were then joined by Josh Porter, the Head Coach of Nashua South, who brought an innovative tech perspective to the studio. Coach Porter walked us through the development and capabilities of his new platform, PowerUp. Designed specifically to support high school sports programs, the app helps teams and coaching staffs easily monitor, structure, and maximize their players’ strength and conditioning development.
